The Greco-Roman Museum is an archaeological museum in Alexandria, Egypt. It displays a wide range of antiquities found in and around Alexandria, most of which are film antiquities from the Ptolemaic era and the subsequent Roman era, and from the founding of Alexandria in the third century BC until the third century after that.

The Great Library of Alexandria in Alexandria, Egypt, was one of the largest and most important libraries of the ancient world. The library was part of a research institution, which was dedicated to the Gods of the Nine Arts. The idea of establishing a universal library in Alexandria may have been proposed by Demetrius Phalerum, an exiled Athenian statesman living in Alexandria. The library soon acquired many papyrus manuscripts, largely due to the aggressive and well-financed policies of the Ptolemaic kings for purchasing texts.
