She is one of the most important saints in the West and played a major role in the spread of Christianity. She died in sacrifice for that. There is a monastery in the area called St. Catherine’s Monastery. At the top of the mountain there is a private chapel for her in the place where her body was found. Near the prayer hall there are two rooms where pilgrims to the mountain can spend the night, and the mountain can be climbed from a corridor built by one of the monastery's priests.
